Terry
Lee Smidt
A message from Spike Smith on Terry Smidt.
He worked at TWA for 35 years on the ramp and in the garage, always offering a
helping hand to anyone who needed it, especially our flight attendants when they
had problems with their cars in the parking lot. Terry was my best friend
and business partner. We ran a small auto parts store together in San Mateo in
the 80s, and like other small businesses, we did make a little money. Terry and
I, along with Bill Panella, Pete Mordwino, Frank Donate, and Vic Valco, were on
the TWA softball team that represented SFO. We would travel to other stations
for tournaments, and we would win some & lose some. The best of all,
we would beat JFK & MKC. Terry was a great pitcher, and I was his catcher for
all of our games. He was a great roommate, and we had great times and laughter
together with all of our teammates. He is survived by his wife Kathleen of
35 years, sons T.J. & Todd, as well as a stepdaughter, Alexis, and stepchildren,
James and Kami.
Please send a card to the family or a message to me about Terry so that I may
read them at his Service. Terry would always say give your friends a call and
stay in touch.
