Don Willey

I received the following from Bob Goetz regarding the passing of SFO A&P mechanic Don Willey. Dee Willey said there will be a celibration of his life but probably won’t happen until sometime in January. For those wishing to send their condolences Bob has included her address.

Received a call this evening from Dee Willey to tell me that Don had passed away last Friday, December 2nd. He was in the hospital fighting an infection that had turned to sepsis that just overwhelmed him. Dee asked me to reach out to you so you would be able to get the information out to folks on your contact lists. He was often a regular at our bi-monthly mechanic's lunches and his infectious smile and laugh will be missed. He was truly one of the good guys. If folks would like to reach out to Dee, I'm including her mailing address. There will be a celebration of life but with the holidays approaching, per Dee, it would probably not happen until sometime in January. She will be back in touch once arrangements are made and will be letting me know at that time so we can get the word out.

Folks,
Attended Don’s memorial service yesterday and the crowd was amazing. The TWA family was a little thin with the following in attendance. Jim Carnathan, Mancil and Bobbi Trueblood, Mike and Terry Storms, Joyce Williams, Connie Simons plus myself and wife Dina. Penny Woodall had written a beautiful heart felt note about loss to Dee and she was so taken by it, that she read it to everyone. The family did a great job with Don’s bio as it captured so much about him  Spoke with Don’s wife Dee and asked her if she would like me to talk about Don’s work life with TWA and she said yes. Did the best I could to describe his work history as well as remember him for his crazy laugh and infectious smile. It was both a sad and beautiful day remembering a very special individual.
Bob
